Who needs croutons when you have these tasty bits!?
These crunchy morsels are perfect to top on pasta, salad or sprinkle on your next baked or grilled fish recipe!
Old bread going stale on the counter? Toss it in the freezer until there's a perfect day to make a big batch of Garlicky Bread Crumbs! What you don't use, freeze quickly in a reusable container and save for a later date.
Yields: 1/2-1 cup of crumbs depending on the size of loaf.
Ingredients:
Approximately 1 cup dried crumbs*
1 1/2 Tbsp THAT'S GOOD GARLIC!
1 teas Hungarian Paprika
1/2 teas Kosher Sea Salt (We recommend Jacobsen Kosher Sea Salt)
1/2 teas Fresh-Cracked Pepper
* 3-5 slices of sourdough, focaccia or but almost any bread will do. Toasted until very dry and crumbly, but not burnt. Drying the bread is the goal here. Lower heat will make for perfectly dried slices to mash up in your blender or crumble in your hands.
Using a spatula, press dried bread crumbs, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper around the sides of a medium-sized bowl to mix throughly until evenly blended.
Spread crumbs on a lined baking sheet and broil on LOW for 5-15 minutes, stirring frequently. Crumbs are done when they are golden brown and crunchy.
You've been warned, try not to eat the whole pan!
